How do you move forward to prevent the destruction of our United States' constitutionally federated republic and its representative democracy?
1) Vote for non-MAGA Republicans. If you are and wish to remain a registered Republican, vote in Republican Primaries and support candidates who have chosen to shed the MAGA "facade of patriotism."
2) Learn about other political parties and their candidates who most mirror your political ideas. You may not know, there are hundreds of state-level political parties, and 55 distinct federal ballot-qualified political parties in the United States. There is likely a candidate out there that represents your political tastes.
3) Consider becoming a non-partisan voter. Many people don't realize that George Wasington forewarned us of the demise of the great American experiment due to the danger of political parties (please look up and read his farewell speech). Understand that there is a distinct difference between a registered Independent (a political party) and a registered with "No Political Affiliation."
4) Help others. Talk to your MAGA friends and help guide them away from the "cult" that will eventually destroy our country through authoritarianism and ignorance.
5) Engage and save Congress. Write your Representatives and Senators to help them understand they need to change their course away from MAGA and Donald Trump to get back to the "Checks and Balances" needed to reign in the Executive and Judicial Branches of our government. The Republicans in Congress can take back control of the United States, remove this administration before Republicans face extreme and irreversable difficulties in the future. We are potentially less than a year from an entire flip of Congress which will have devastating and nearly permanent impacts to the Republican Party, possibly to the point of extinction.
6) Find others who agree with you. Work together to learn, and act. There is strength in numbers, and facing those who support authoritarianism will potentially disenfanchise you as you use logic, fact and law to argue your point about the dangers of MAGA.
7) Seek support groups. Join a support group through sites that help those who have chosen to leave MAGA, like:
